Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) deputy chief Saifullah Kasuri (X)
Islamabad/New Delhi: Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) deputy chief Saifullah Kasuri revealed in a public statement that he is regularly invited to functions and funerals of soldiers on behalf of the Pakistan Army. This revelation has come after the video of his address to children in a school went viral. Kasuri also gave challenging statements against India from the same platform.
He was seen speaking clearly in the video. He said the army chiefs sent him formal invitations. He also said that he goes to offer namaz at the funerals of soldiers. The date of when and where this video was recorded has not been made public. Kasuri was seen on the stage of a school. Children and decorations were also visible on the stage.
This statement is sensitive for both the countries. India has already been alleging Pakistan military-terrorist links. Waksuri's confession further strengthens those claims.
He said that India conducted Operation Sindoor after the Pahalgam attack. Kasuri termed the Indian action as a “mistake.” He said that the organization will not back down from the Kashmir mission.
Analysts are considering this as a new sign of the pattern. There has been meaningful evidence available for many years. This statement raises those questions again. The Pakistan government has often made anti-terrorism claims on the international stage. Kasuri's words contradict those claims. This contradiction could affect global trust.
International powers and intelligence agencies are watching this video. India has taken cognizance of such claims earlier also. Now questions will be raised at the diplomatic and intelligence level. The authenticity of the video will be further investigated. There may be a reaction from the international community. There is a possibility of two-way rhetoric and diplomatic pressure.
This revelation by Kasuri also holds the significance of revenge and political-military strategy. If the authenticity and context of the video were made more clear, this fact would no longer be just a statement. This will again raise questions about the security of South Asia and could further complicate the already complex relations between the two neighboring countries.
